How to Send Your Hair Mineral Sample

Get started on your Hair Mineral Analysis by sending your sample to our lab, and booking your consultation (be sure to leave 20-25 days between sending the sample and the date of your appointment to ensure we have the results back to share!)

How to take a hair sample

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

A clean pair of scissors, a clean tissue and a clean plastic bag to collect the sample in.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT put the whole length of hair you’ve cut, we ONLY need the 1-1.5" closest to the skin (or the ‘root’).

INSTRUCTIONS:

Be sure to read "tips" before sending your sample;

  • Take sample of clean, new hair growth at the nape of the neck.

    • It is important to cut closest to the root.

    • A sample length of 1-1.5 inches (equivalent of 2.5-3.5 cm) is optimal.

    • Total sample would be 500mg or about one tablespoon flat.

  • Place sample on clean tissue paper, fold and seal the tissue in a plastic bag.

    • Label it using the instructions below.

HOW TO LABEL IT:

On a piece of paper please write the following details:

  1. Client Info: Write your full name, age, weight and height on a piece of paper.

  2. Practitioner Info: Write your practitioner’s name: YESIM SAVASER.

  3. Special considerations: Specify any hair treatments you have; dye, perm, anti dandruff shampoo, etc (otherwise this may prevent us from providing accurate results).

WHERE TO SEND IT:

Place the sample (in a closed plastic bag) and paper (outside of the bag) with your information in an envelope and mail directly to:

Canalt Labs

16 Falconer Dr, Unit 14

Mississauga, ON   L5N 3M1

HOW TO BOOK YOUR CONSULTATION

We recommend booking your consultation the same day you send your sample, and booking it for 20-25 days in advance to ensure we have had time to receive the results back from the lab.

[!] TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS:

  • Make sure you have no leave on products on your hair (use a gentle baby-friendly shampoo to ensure your results are a good reflection of your hair, and not the shampoos or products you have recently use on them).

  • Please avoid taking a sample right after you dry your hair.

  • If you’re dying your hair regularly, wait for just before your next dye.
